1. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies
If you’re looking for things to do in Gatlinburg, you should go to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. The kids will love seeing all the different kinds of sea creatures, from fish to sharks. You’ll walk through the tropical rainforest section and see frogs and piranhas, then to Ocean Realm to look at flounder and garden eels. Everyone loves getting on the moving walkway through Shark Lagoon and trying to spot Sally the sea turtle! Kids love seeing the penguins playing and getting to touch manta rays. 2. Mini Golf
For some outdoor fun, take the kids mini golfing! Everyone will have a blast playing 18 holes with different setups. At Hillbilly Golf, you can play on two different appalachian-themed courses where you ride a train 300 feet over downtown Gatlinburg. Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf also has two unique courses with different elements at each hole. If you want to putt putt indoors, head to Treasure Quest Mini Golf for a jungle theme.
3. Riding Stables
If your kids love animals, take them horseback riding through the Smoky Mountains National Park. The horses are gentle, and kids of all ages will love getting to ride them over trails. The terrain is not all flat, but you won’t mind as you get to take in the natural beauty of the mountains and forest. At Sugarlands Riding Stables and Smoky Mountain Riding Stables, kids must be 5 years old and older to ride the horses.
4. Gatlin’s Laser Tag
Everyone can have fun playing a game of laser tag at Gatlin’s! You’ll become a sharpshooter with the phaser, moving up on the leaderboard. There are plenty of spots to hide from everyone since the arena is set up like a maze. You can play 4 different ways: individually, as a group, team capture, and vampire. No matter how you decide to play, you’ll be happy you did!
5. Ober Gatlinburg
During colder months, your family will enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Ober Gatlinburg. You can try the beginner slopes before heading onto the big ones. Everyone will enjoy snow tubing too! At any time during the year, you guys can go ice skating or play ice bumper cars. There’s even an alpine slide and a coaster for some outdoor fun!
6. Ripley’s Super Funzone
Kids love playing games at arcades, so why not take them to Ripley’s Super Funzone! There’s a ton of fun games to play to try to get as many points as possible. You’ll have a bunch of prizes to choose from after you rack up a bunch of points. The whole family will love spending hours at the arcade! Plus, check out the candy shop to find some of your favorite sweets before you leave.
